"Two Island Light" is Dr. Lacey's second book. The students in these classes studied his first book, "Flu Shot" last fall.

A) My first impression on Jack is that he was in jail for somthing he did in the past. He is scared so he trys to protect other people so he can get more friends than enemys. I think that he meets a good friend when talking to Roach I think that Jack is eager to go fishing after what Roach told him.
I Don't really think that Jack seems alot like York from the novel flu shot. I think that Jack is almost oppisite because York was a retired army person and Jack is in Jail. (Getting out)
B) I think it would be pretty common to lose thier place in the ocean when they do not have very good technology to tell them where to go like Gps, Radars, Compass's, Computers, Stuff like that.
C) I don't know what a freighter would of been carrying back than but I do know that boats are way more important now on Grand Manan than they were before because fishing is our life just about. If there was no fish around here at all then we probably couldn't live here because there would been any work.
A) Jack and the character York seem to be alot different. York was the loner that likes to be alone and seems to hate people while Jack seems to be more caring to others like when he helped Roach out ad all most got killed. Jack seems to be a nice person that enjoys talking with others.
B) Well they probably would have tried to be very careful of not to crash but the fact of the matter that they have no things like GPS and they have to use there very own location skill's and with one little mistake they could end up off of location and with things like fog you would get of course a lot of the time.
C) It would most likely have somthing like food and other important items that you need to live. And yes boat where probably a big part of things back then because we have things like plans and other vechicles to help get what we need. Boats where like our life line.
1. I think that Jack is a good person or else he wouldn’t have stepped in to try to stop the fight. Or tried to stop the rape and beating of the nurse jenny. I don’t think there is much in common between jack and York at lest not at this point in the novel.
2. I do not think that it was extremely common but I do think that it was more common for them to run aground but they would have known the seas to a cretin degree. But yes I think it was somewhat common.
3. I think that boats were more important to the people back then because back then a lot more of life depended of boats.
My first impression of jack was he's just some guy that wanted to get out of jail but one day he saw a guy getting beet up and nobody would help him so he did what he thought right and got blamed for everything. I don't see anything the same with York and Jack. If we didn't have the technology we would have much more death. Freighters were very important because they had the suplies we needed to survive.
I think that Jack wants to join the army because he wants to avenge his friend and mabye he thinks it's the only place he can go now. I think that she's grateful but she also see's that he's caring and that made her think if mabye she liked him. I think that the people in the submarine are drug deelers and Luther and Freeman are helping them by giving them the drugs with the lobster.

[b] I think she is just very grateful that he saved her life from Webster and I think that she likes him to.
