1) Well there are mabny things tha might have made Catcher die. For one Catcher was very very old as we know. As well his ship that he has had for a very long time and he thinks very fond of had just been sunk. So im going to say it was from a mixture of old age and a broken heart... a deadly combination.
2) Well Catcher was Jack's mentor in the fishing world. And he had learned the best fishing ways. As well we cant forget that Jack loved fishing before he knew Catcher at all. And if you compare the new Jack to the Jack in Saint John City. There is a huge difference. Jack was trying to kill himself in Saint John but now he is one of Grand Manans top fishers as well he is geting a brand new boat.
3) Well I think his thing for Elizabeth is more of Lust then love really. I mean lets look at him and Jenny for a moment. They had serious love for each other but Jack and Elizabeth are more of a lust. And as we saw a little bit before. Elizabeth is just with him for the stuff he has.

I think that jack has grown so much in so little time. He went one day from wanting to commit suicide to fishing and buying a new boat on Grand Manan.

I really have no idea how Catcher died. I mean, it could have been because of a broken heart. But, it could have just been a coincidence that something happened that night when Jack got there.
I think that Jack knows that Catcher would want him to move on & I think he has become stronger throughout the whole book & Since the dark days in Saint John, Jack knows that things can change and get better.
I really don’t think he is that taken by Elizabeth. I think that Jack is all about Jennifer & really want’s to see her again. I hope that by the end of this book, Jennifer & Jack meet up!

a) Well, Mr. Whipple sort of explained that to us. I believe his body kept on going for his passion, fishing. When his boat sunk he just said "Meh" and got depressed then his body just thought "It's time"
b) Jack is doing infinitely better then he was in Saint John, he's pursuing his dream after all. But he is still being haunted by crimes he didn't commit... As far as we know...
c) Well, he has no clue where Jenny is, and there is other women out there. So why would he waste time thinking about someone who he may very well never see again. I think he likes Elizabeth for a few reasons, maybe it's because she's rich?

a) I think him dieing deffinetley has something to do with the loos of his boat. He spent nearly every moment on that boat fishing and couldn't bear the loss.
b) I think Jack wants to become a great fisherman even more now that Catcher has died. he feels like it's his dutie to take his place.

a) Catcher could have possibly died because of a broken heart from the loss of his boat, or it could be a coincidence. He was old anyway and his heart was bad so he could have died because of those things as well.
b) I think Jack has a lot of support from Everett, Robert, and Sea Dog and a passion for fishing that motivates him to move on. Jack had already been through loss of people he was close to several times before and other awful predicaments so he might be a little bit more accostomed to it. Jack also has many distractions that lure his thoughts away from Catcher too. Jack grew in his perseverence and didn't think about commiting suicide after Catcher's death like he did before. I think now he has people to rely on and realizes he doesn't have to go through everything alone. He has grown in not letting his emotions get the best of him a little bit.
c) I think Jack is in love with Elizabeth's looks and not her character. He is setting himself up for a fall because she is just using him. Neither of them actually love or even like each other. There isn't really that much of a connection like with Jack and Jenny.

In one of the chapter it mentions that Germans by everyting by tens. I remember that when Freeman and Luther were selling lobsters to the submarine, the buyer always bough ten lobsters.
Also, in Flu Shot York was saved by the bear near the ending. In this book, Jack got saved by the dog. Did you do this on purpose?
B) Jack seems to have bad luck, being put in jail, getting beat up and almost dying twice by Luther and Freeman. But, Jack kind of has good luck, because whatever situation he is in, he survives.

With his new interest, I'd think (after the Freeman and Luther Issue) he'd stay out of trouble.
